CHASKA, MINN. — Carver County and the City of Chaska celebrated the completion of a newly realigned segment of the Minnesota River Bluffs Regional Trail with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday, July 22.
Carver County Commissioner Matt Udermann, District 3, opened the event with remarks highlighting the trail’s regional significance and the importance of collaboration between the County and City. He was joined by Chaska Mayor Taylor Hubbard, who emphasized the trail’s value to the community.
“It is exciting to see this section of the trail come to life,” said Hubbard. “It will now be easier for visitors and residents to experience the charm of Downtown Chaska. When more and more people visit our shops, eat at our restaurants and take in the natural beauty of our riverfront, they’ll see what we see — Downtown Chaska is a destination.”
The newly constructed alignment improves access to downtown Chaska and shifts the trail off the Minnesota River floodplain, reducing the risk of flood-related closures and improving long-term reliability.
The project was made possible in part by funding from the Minnesota Legacy Amendment, which supports parks and trails across the state through the Parks and Trails Fund.
This latest segment connects trail users to the entire Twin Cities Metropolitan Regional Parks and Trails System.
The realigned segment was completed in June 2025 following construction throughout the previous year.
