Carver County is now accepting applications for our Statewide Affordable Housing Aid Program and Local Homeless Prevention Aid Program. Below is a link to our online app as well as a paper application option. These programs will run for as long as we have funding available.

Statewide Affordable Housing Aid Program
Any Carver County household who is earning less than 80% of area median gross income and are experiencing one of the following:
- Living in overcrowded conditions in their current housing and require assistance to move into new housing that is not overcrowded.
- Lacking a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence and requires assistance to obtain new permanent housing.
- Possible eviction at current rental due to back owed rent
- Requires assistance to secure more affordable housing.
- Utilities at rental property if there is a threat of shut off or eviction.

Local Homeless Prevention Aid Program
MUST be a Carver County resident with child (children) who attends prekindergarten (3 years of age or older) through grade 12 Carver County academic program whose income is below 80% of area median gross income and are experiencing one of the following:
- Living in overcrowded conditions in their current housing and require assistance to move into new housing that is not overcrowded.
- Overcrowded is defined as having more than 2 people per bedroom.
- Lacking a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence and requires assistance to obtain new permanent housing.
- Possible eviction at current residence due to back owed rent.
- Possible loss of home due to unpaid mortgage.
- Requires assistance to secure more affordable housing.
- Utilities at rental property if there is a threat of shut off or eviction.
