Absentee voting

All eligible voters in Carver County can vote early by absentee either in person or by mail.  

Absentee voting for the 2026 Elections:

  • State Primary: Begins June 26, 2026 - Ends August 10, 2026
  • State General: Begins September 18, 2026 - Ends November 2, 2026

In Person Absentee Voting:

All Carver County residents can come to the Government Center in Chaska at 600 E 4th St during the absentee voting period, Monday - Friday 8:00am-4:30 pm.

Saturday August 8, 2026:  9:00am-3:00pm

Saturday October 24:  9:00am-3:00pm
Tuesday October 27:  8:00am-7:00pm
Saturday October 31:  9:00am-3:00pm
Sunday November 1:  9:00am-3:00pm
Monday November 2:  8:00am-5:00pm

Waconia City residents ONLY can vote at Waconia City Hall at 201 S Vine St. during the absentee voting period, Monday - Thursday 7:30am-4:30pm and Friday 7:30am-11:30am.

Curbside Voting Available

If you cannot easily leave your vehicle for mobility reasons or because you prefer to avoid contact with others as a health precaution, you can ask to have your ballot brought out to your car. Two election judges from different major political parties must bring the ballot to your vehicle. If you would like to do curbside voting, please contact the Election Department at (952) 361-1941.
