Driver's License Exams
This is a shared facility with the State Exam Station. Visit the Chaska facility for Class D knowledge test and Class D road test or to apply for a new Minnesota State Identification (ID) Card.

State exam testing station hours are: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday
Class D knowledge test and Class D road test are available only by Scheduled Appointment.
Motorcycle and CDL knowledge test on a standby basis as space is available.

How do I make an appointment?
Please schedule a Driver's License, Motor Vehicle title, or Passport appointment online.
Why are there no appointments available on the schedule?
Appointments are scheduled out for 3 weeks. If no availability then the schedule is full. New appointments open daily at midnight.
What driver’s license transactions require an appointment?
Appointments are required for renewing or upgrading to a REAL ID or Enhanced Driver's License. Please visit the online services and select “Pre-apply for a Driver’s License or ID.”
When is the best time to visit the drive-thru?
There are no “lower volume” times at the drive-thru. Earlier in the day tends to be better. Late afternoons are the busiest times.
What exams are offered at the Chaska exam station?
Class D knowledge test and Class D road test are offered by appointment only. Motorcycle and CDL knowledge tests on a standby basis as space is available. Please visit online services.
