The Property Tax Department is responsible for:

  • Calculating property taxes
  • Applying certified special assessment charges
  • Administering adjustments to the tax base for
    • Tax increment financing (TIF)
    • Fiscal disparities 
  • Collecting property taxes
  • Settling and distributing collected fund to the appropriate taxing districts
  • Managing delinquent tax accounts
  • Administering the tax forfeiture process

2025 Truth in Taxation Proposed Notices 

Each November, you’ll receive a proposed notice to let you know about upcoming budget meetings held by certain taxing authorities. The purpose of this notice is to keep you informed and involved. You are encouraged to attend these meetings to gather information and voice your opinion before final levies are set. For more information on the County's 2024 Budget, please go to our Budget page. Contact the other taxing authorities directly if you have questions regarding their meetings, levies or budgets.

Carver County offers an option for residents to receive property tax notices, property tax statements and valuation notices electronically through eNoticesOnline.

eNoticesOnline helps taxpayers reduce their paper footprint. It's a quick, easy and free way to go paperless with property tax notices and statements.

Residents receive instructions on how to register for eNotices in their current mailings. The mailings include an insert with instructions and an activation code, ensuring security and confidentiality.

Gravel Tax

Anyone transporting, storing, or selling aggregate materials within Carver County are required to report quantities handled. The Aggregate Tax Reporting form and payment are due by the 14th day following the last day of each quarter. Review Minnesota Statute 298.75 for additional details.
