Due dates for property tax payments differ based on several factors. View a list of due dates. Make sure to check your actual statement to ensure you are submitting the payment by the correct due date. Penalty will be added if the payment is received late.

Information reported on your property tax statement is used when filing for MN Property Tax Refund (form M1PR). Located at the bottom of the tax statement are two payment stubs which should be submitted when paying your taxes. The top section of the statement is to be retained for your records.

Here is an explanation of the lines on your tax statement.

Line 1 & 2	Property tax refund qualifying amounts. You would use these to file the M1PR form with the State of MN
Line 3	Property tax before reduction for applicable credits
Line 4A	Amount for agricultural market value and school building bond agricultural credits
Line 4B	Amount for agricultural preserve credit
Line 5	Property tax after reduction for applicable credits
Line 6A	County tax capacity portion of your tax
Line 6B	Rail authority portion of your tax
Line 7	City or township tax capacity portion of your tax (see line 11 for any additional city tax)
Line 8	State general tax portion of your tax - applicable to commercial, industrial and seasonal recreational classifications
Line 9A	Voter approved portion of school district tax
Line 9B	Non-voter approved portion of school district tax
Line 10A	Metropolitan Special Taxing Districts portion of your tax (includes Met Council, Met Mosquito, and Met Transit if applicable)
Line 10B	Other Special Taxing District portion of your tax (includes Carver County CDA, Watershed, and applicable City HRA or EDA charges)
Line 10C	Tax Increment Financing (TIF) - tax used to finance special projects
Line 10D	Fiscal Disparity (FD) - tax calculated at the area-wide rate
Line 11	City referenda market value portion of tax
Line 12	Net tax before adding special assessments
Line 13	Special assessment total
Line 14	Total tax payable in that year
