The Carver County Water Management Organization 

The Carver County Water Management Organization is responsible for managing lakes, rivers and wetlands within its boundaries. Our mission is to protect, preserve and manage surface water & groundwater in the midst of rapid growth and intensive agricultural activity. Responsibilities include planning, funding, regulating, educating and implementing the Carver County Water Management Plan.

The water management organization's area covers 320 square miles, includes 35 lakes larger than 10 acres, and 365 miles of stream, and includes the following watersheds.

  • Bevens Creek watershed
  • Carver Creek watershed
  • East Chaska Creek watershed
  • West Chaska Creek watershed
  • Parts of the Pioneer Sarah watershed
  • Parts of the Crow River watershed
