Help keep Carver County trails clean, safe and welcoming by participating in the Adopt-a-Trail program.

Individuals, families, businesses, community groups and organizations can adopt a trail segment and help care for the parks and trails they enjoy.

Program Responsibilities

Trail adopters are asked to:

• Adopt approximately 1 mile of trail
• Monitor trail conditions throughout the year
• Report trail conditions and cleanup activities at least three times annually
• Commit to a two-year volunteer term

Adopters help identify maintenance concerns, remove litter and support the overall care of the trail system.

Program Benefits

Adopt-a-Trail participants receive:

• Recognition signage along their adopted trail segment
• Opportunities to support local parks and trails
• A meaningful way to give back to the community
• A direct role in maintaining outdoor recreation opportunities

Help introduce others to outdoor recreation by volunteering with Carver County Parks programs and activities.

Volunteers support a variety of recreation programs throughout the year and play an important role in creating positive experiences for participants of all ages.

Volunteer Opportunities

Seasonal and year-round volunteer opportunities may be available for:

• Stand-up paddleboarding
• Canoeing
• Archery
• Log rolling
• Geocaching
• Youth camps
• Outdoor recreation programs and events

Volunteer Responsibilities

Volunteer duties may include:

• Assisting with program setup and cleanup
• Preparing and organizing equipment
• Supporting instructors during programs
• Assisting with participant and group management
• Helping create a safe and welcoming environment for participants

Some volunteer roles may involve lifting or carrying equipment. Accommodations may be available based on individual needs and abilities.

Requirements

Outdoor Recreation Volunteers must successfully complete a background check before participating in volunteer activities.

Additional training may be provided based on the program area and volunteer assignment.

Spend the camping season helping visitors enjoy their experience at Baylor Regional Park while supporting campground operations and customer service activities.

Campground hosts serve as ambassadors for Carver County Parks and help create a welcoming environment for campers and park visitors.

Position Overview

Campground Hosts typically serve during the camping season, from May through October.

Hosts camp onsite at Baylor Regional Park and assist with a variety of visitor services and campground support activities.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include:

• Welcoming campers and visitors
• Providing park and campground information
• Assisting with customer service needs
• Monitoring campground facilities and amenities
• Reporting maintenance or safety concerns
• Supporting park staff as needed

Carver County Parks welcomes scout troops, school groups and youth organizations interested in completing volunteer service and conservation projects in parks, trails and waterways throughout the county.

Staff will work with your group to identify a project that supports park needs while providing a meaningful educational and service experience.
