Carver County Parks welcomes special events that enhance recreational opportunities and community engagement within regional parks and trails.

A Special Use Permit may be required for organized events, activities or gatherings that occur within Carver County regional parks, trails or facilities.

Events That May Require a Permit

Examples include:

  • Endurance races and walks
  • Disc golf tournaments
  • Baptisms
  • Polar plunges
  • Concerts and music festivals
  • Art fairs
  • Fishing tournaments
  • Youth programs
  • Cross-country meets
  • Other organized public events

Permit requirements vary based on the size, scope and location of the event.

Submit a Permit Request

Submit a Special Use Permit application to begin the review process.

Application Deadlines

To allow adequate time for review and coordination, permit applications must be submitted in advance.

Tier 1 Permits

Applications must be submitted at least 30 days before the event date.

Tier 2 Permits

Applications must be submitted at least 90 days before the event date.

Applications received after these deadlines may not be considered.
