To address the transportation budget gap and maintain high-priority roads and bridges, Carver County approved new revenue sources on May 2, 2017.

These include:

• A half-percent local option sales tax.
• A $20 excise tax on vehicle purchases.
• An increase in the wheelage tax from $10 to $20 per vehicle.

Proceeds from these taxes are dedicated to funding road repairs and construction projects over the next 20 years.
